Alphabet Flashcards A–Z

Free printable alphabet flashcards: capital and lowercase letters A to Z, each with a picture that starts with the letter. Color or black and white, US Letter or A4.

How to use the alphabet cards

Print the five pages, cut along the dashed lines and keep the cards in an envelope. Each card shows the capital and the lowercase letter together and one picture whose name starts with that letter — the same picture as on the letter's own worksheet page.

• Say it, hear it. Hold up a card, say the letter name, then the picture word slowly. The child repeats the first sound.
• Few at a time. Start with the letters of the child's name, then add two or three new cards a day.
• Line them up. Put a handful of cards in ABC order, then mix them up and try again.
• Find a match. Spread some cards on the table and ask: "Which one starts like sun?"
