Color by letter turns letter recognition into a picture puzzle. Every page has a big grid with a letter in each square and a color key on top: A is blue, M is red, S is green. The child finds each letter, colors its square with the right crayon, and a hidden picture slowly appears: a house, a fish, a rocket, a rainbow or a butterfly.

Letters that young children mix up, like b and d, m and w, or n and u, never appear in the same picture, so every square can be read without a guess. Set Letters to Capital, Lowercase or Both. With Both, the key shows A a and the grid mixes the two forms, so the child learns that they are the same letter. The color names are printed in the key, so a black and white copy works too.

The answer key shows the finished picture in color. Press New sheet for new letters, or pick another picture for the sheet. Every sheet prints in color or black and white, on US Letter or A4. Nothing to sign up for.
