Question

Knowing which two numbers make 10 is one of the most useful facts in early math: it makes adding and taking away much easier later on. Every box on these sheets has a ten frame with some dots already in it and a number sentence under it, like 7 + ? = 10. The child counts the dots, draws more dots in the empty boxes until the frame is full, then counts the new dots and writes the number.

The frame does the thinking with the child: an empty box is a dot that is still missing, so the answer can be seen and counted, not just remembered. Set Make to Make 10 for a ten frame, or to Make 5 for a five frame, a gentle start for children who are still counting to five. Choose four, six or nine frames on a page.

The answer key gives every number sentence, like 7 + 3 = 10. Press New sheet for new numbers. Every sheet prints in color or black and white, on US Letter or A4. Nothing to sign up for.
