A telling sentence ends with a period and an asking sentence ends with a question mark. That is the first rule of punctuation children learn, and these sheets practice exactly that. Every box has a picture and a short sentence about it with no mark at the end: The frog can hop. Can the frog hop. The child reads the sentence, decides if it tells something or asks something, and adds the right mark.
Each picture comes with a telling sentence and an asking one, and every sheet has as many of each, so guessing does not help. The asking sentences start with words a child can spot, like can, is, do, what and where. Set Answer to Write it to write the mark in a box at the end, or to Circle it to circle a period or a question mark under the sentence. Choose four or six sentences on a page.
The answer key gives every sentence with its mark. Press New sheet for new sentences. Every sheet prints in color or black and white, on US Letter or A4. Nothing to sign up for.
