Row

Measuring with a ruler is a real skill: line up the end with zero, read where the other end stops. Every row on these sheets has a pencil, a crayon, a worm or a straw drawn right above an inch ruler with marks for every quarter inch. The child reads where the thing ends and writes how many inches long it is. Every length is a whole number of inches, from 1 to 6.

Printed at full size, the ruler on the page is a real inch ruler: each inch on paper is one inch, so a child can put their own ruler on the sheet and see that it matches. Set Start to At zero for the first sheets, or to Anywhere, where things start at other marks and the child counts the inches between the two ends. Choose three or four things on a page.

The answer key gives every length. Press New sheet for new things to measure. Every sheet prints in color or black and white, on US Letter or A4; print at 100% size to keep the ruler true. Nothing to sign up for.
