Puzzle

A number path is a counting maze. The grid is full of numbers; the child starts on the green square with 1, looks at the squares right next to it — up, down, left and right — finds 2 and colors it, then looks for 3, and keeps going to the pink square at the end. Saying the numbers in order while hunting for the next one is great counting practice, and the colored path is the reward.

Set Path to 1 to 20 for a 6 by 6 grid, 1 to 30 for a bigger 7 by 7 grid, or A to Z to follow the alphabet instead. The other numbers in the grid are chosen so that they never start a second path: there is always exactly one way from the start to the end.

Press New sheet for a new puzzle. The answer key prints on a second page only when you ask for it and shows the whole path. Every sheet prints in color or black and white, on US Letter or A4. Nothing to sign up for.
