Picture sudoku is a first logic puzzle. The grid has four rows, four columns and four small boxes, and four pictures — an apple, a star, a fish and a balloon, for example. Each picture must appear once in every row, once in every column and once in every box. Some squares are already filled; the child works out which picture is missing from each empty square and draws it in. There is no counting and no reading, just looking carefully and thinking.

Set Level to Easy for 4 empty squares, Medium for 6 or Hard for 8. Every puzzle has exactly one answer — the generator checks it — so the child can always solve it by thinking, never by guessing. Choose one big puzzle on a page or two, each with its own four pictures shown above the grid.
