Every row is a caterpillar with a number on each round part of its body. The numbers go up by the same step — by 2s, by 5s or by 10s — and three of the circles are empty. The child counts along, says the numbers out loud and writes the missing ones. The first two circles always have numbers, so the step is easy to find, and a label at the start of the row says it too.

Set Count by to 2s, 5s or 10s for a whole page of one step, or to Mixed for rows that take turns. Counting by 10s and 5s stays within 100 and counting by 2s within 30. Choose four, five or six rows.
