Tally marks are a quick way to keep count: one line for each thing, and every fifth line goes across the four before it. Counting a group of five at a glance is the same idea as a ten frame — children learn to see five as one piece and count on from there. Each box on this sheet shows a set of tally marks to count.
Set Mode to Count the marks, where the child writes the number in the box, or to Draw the marks, where the number is given and there is room to draw the lines. Numbers to 10 shows up to two groups of five, and 20 up to four. The marks are the same size on every box of a sheet, so bigger numbers look longer.
Click any box to change its number, lock the boxes you like, and press New sheetfor the rest. The answer key prints on a second page only when you ask for it and draws the marks for the Draw sheets. Every sheet prints in color or black and white, on US Letter or A4. Nothing to sign up for.
