Counting money is counting with a twist: every coin has its own value. Each box on these sheets shows a few US coins (a penny is 1 cent, a nickel 5, a dime 10 and a quarter 25), and the child adds them up and writes the total in cents. The coins are simple drawings with the value printed on each one, so a child who does not know the coins yet can still do the sum, and learns which coin is which along the way.
The coins in a box go from the biggest value to the smallest, so the child can start with the dime and count on: 10, 15, 16, 17. They keep the real size order too: the dime is the smallest coin and the quarter the biggest. Set Coins to Pennies, nickels for totals up to 20 cents, Up to dimes for totals up to 50 cents, or With quarters for totals up to 99 cents.
The answer key gives the total for every box. Press New sheet for new coins. Every sheet prints in color or black and white, on US Letter or A4. Nothing to sign up for.
