Problem

Once a child can add and take away with pictures, the next step is to know the facts themselves. These sheets are plain drills: every box has one fact written in a column, like 7 on top and + 2 below, a line under it and a box for the answer. There is nothing to count, so the child has to know or work out each fact. A page of twenty takes a few minutes and shows quickly which facts are solid and which still need practice.

Set Facts to Addition, Subtraction or Mixed, where plus and minus take turns. Set Numbers to Within 10 for facts like 4 + 5 and 9 - 3, or Within 20 for the harder facts that cross ten, like 8 + 5 and 13 - 6. Choose 12, 16 or 20 problems on a page; no fact repeats on a sheet.

The answer key lists every answer in order, so checking a page takes a minute. Press New sheet for a fresh set of facts. Every sheet prints in color or black and white, on US Letter or A4. Nothing to sign up for.
