Puzzle

A letter hunt is a grid of 36 letters. The child finds every copy of one letter, colors it in, counts them and writes the number at the bottom. Letters that look alike are mixed in on purpose — b among d, p and q, m among n and w, E among F and B — so the child has to look at the shape of each one, not just guess. It is practice for letter recognition and the first step toward reading.

Pick the Letter from a to z and set Case to lowercase or capital letters. Each grid hides the letter six to nine times. Choose one big grid on a page or two smaller ones for more practice with the same letter.

Press New sheet for new grids with the same letter. The answer key prints on a second page only when you ask for it and shows every letter to color and how many there are. Every sheet prints in color or black and white, on US Letter or A4. Nothing to sign up for.
