A picture crossword is a first crossword for children who are just starting to read and spell. Instead of written clues, every clue is a picture — a cat, a star, a sun, a fish — with its number and direction. The child names the picture, sounds out the word and writes one letter in each box, across or down. Where two words cross they share a letter, which helps the child check the spelling.

Set Words to 4 for a small crossword or 5 for a bigger one. The words are short picture words of three to five letters, and every crossword is built so that the words only touch where they cross.
