Measuring with cubes is how young children first learn what length and height mean. Every box on this sheet shows a picture — a giraffe, a penguin, a flower — standing on a line next to a tower of colored cubes that is exactly as tall. The child counts the cubes from the bottom up and writes the number: the giraffe is 7 cubes tall. It joins counting with measuring, and shows that a taller thing needs more cubes.
Set Cubes to Up to 5 for towers of 2 to 5 cubes, or Up to 10 for towers of 3 to 10. Choose four pictures on a page for bigger cubes, or six. Every picture on a page is different, and the cubes change color as they go up so they are easy to count one by one.
Press New sheet for other pictures and heights, or click a box to change how many cubes tall the picture is. The answer key prints on a second page only when you ask for it. Every sheet prints in color or black and white, on US Letter or A4. Nothing to sign up for.
