Question

A number bond shows how a number is made of two smaller ones. The big circle at the top holds the whole, and the two circles below hold its parts: seven is three and four, or five and two. When one of the three circles is empty, the child works out the missing number by thinking about what goes together, which is the first step toward adding and taking away.

Set Find to The part to leave one of the small circles empty, to The whole to leave the big circle empty, or keep Mixed for both kinds on one sheet. Numbers to5 keeps every whole small, 10 is the usual kindergarten range, and 20 uses wholes from 11 to 20. Every part is at least one.

Click any bond to choose which circle is empty or to change the whole, lock the bonds you like, and press New sheet for the rest. The answer key prints on a second page only when you ask for it, and every sheet prints in color or black and white, on US Letter or A4. Nothing to sign up for.
