On a number line, taking away means moving back: the child puts a finger on the first number, hops back one step at a time as many times as the second number says, and lands on the answer. Every row on this sheet has its own number line with a dot on the first number and the take-away written next to it, like 7 − 3. The first row shows the hops drawn in with arrows, so the child sees what to do before starting.
Set Numbers to Within 10 for a line from 0 to 10, or to Within 20 to start from 11 to 20 on a longer line. Choose four, five or six rows on a page. Every take-away on a page is different, and the answer is never below zero.
Press New sheet for new rows. The answer key prints on a second page only when you ask for it. Every sheet prints in color or black and white, on US Letter or A4. Nothing to sign up for.
